I'm not overly impressed with the one I have now, but the one I used to own was amazing. 18" Paiste Sound Creation Dark China. I loved it to death - literally. Unfortunately it broke while I was on tour in '92. I was just just listening to some stuff I recorded way back when (1990) and noticed that there's a pretty clear china hit on this one - so I cropped it. Anyone that's curious can go by and have a listen - it's two seconds long and about 350KB. Dwarf Posted December 22, 2001 Author Share Posted December 22, 2001 That was just the china. The sustain would get lost on a busier tune, but here it's sparse enough that the sustain is noticeable. I have other recordings with that china but the cymbals usually got buried a little deeper in the mix. This was live to DAT and the engineer's inexperience worked in my favour for once -- Rob I have the mind of a criminal genius.....I keep it in the freezer next to mother.
