Pardon me, I seem to have a case of G.A.S.

I've had a G.A.S. attack, and in this case it IS pretty! I just picked up this proud beauty this afternoon after putting in a special order a couple of weeks ago. I was definitely surprised by how quickly Fender filled the order.

It's a Fender American Deluxe Precision 5 string. I got it in montego black with a maple fingerboard. It looks really sweet with the gold pickguard. And the mother of pearl inlays look really sharp. The fretwork is impeccable. The neck is extremely straight and true. The neck joint is solid, too.

The electronics are a pretty cool setup. It's the standard P pickup in the standard position with a humbucker in the bridge position. It's also got active bass, treble and variable midrange to go with a pickup pan pot. What I'm really surprised about is that it's an 18 V preamp. But enough of me yammering, here's a pic.

Hi Nicklab, very nice P bass Deluxe. I had a P Deluxe for quite awhile and really loved it. I know what you are talking about with the fret work. It really could not be any better. I sold mine in a week moment. I am fairly new to this Forum and not familiar with the abbreviations. I'm not sure what G.A.S. stands for but would guess it means a burning desire to have a particulr instrument or piece of equipment. Can you enlighten me? Rocky

It sounds great! I played it for a good half hour before I left the store. Had to get my ya-ya's out since I live in an apartment building and playing through the amp is not really an option. Damn apartments!
