I think what you are asking is called "musical typing". It is located under Window>Musical Typing. The keyboard shortcut is (Shift+Cmd+K) How do i convert any realplayer or WMV files to quicktime? I think you need to buy Quicktime Pro, but I'm not sure any advice from any other mac users out there? Enjoy it! No more viruses or spyware/malware! iLife! No more mucking about with drivers and such! I switched completely to Mac about 7 years ago and have never looked back. -McDuff

Yes, Bump is right. I forgot that converting anything to Real format it is stuck in that format. I would leave the Real alone and start fresh with a more compatible file format. Eric VB
I'm still a generation or so back on GarageBand, so hopefully this still works. Didn't know about the keyboard thingie. I still prefer my cheapo electronic keyboard through a cheapo MIDI-to-USB converter. At least with my version of GB, all export conversion is handled through iTunes. (If iTunes can read it, it can save it in another supported format.) I'm assuming you want to convert different formats to QT so you can import into GB? Try this: (1) move your music file to the desktop. (2) launch GB and create a new song, "My Song 1929362 and counting", or some other relevant name. (3) create a new track (don't worry about details). (4) drag-and-drop your music file into the new GB track (move the GB window if it's hiding your file). That'll work with WAV files. I haven't tried a whole lot of formats with that method yet.

Elwood
Something else you might try to convert Realplayer songs to other formats is Audio Hijack. You can probably play it in your Real player, and capture and record it in a vaariety of formats. It's very reasonably priced, and for occasional use you can probably get by just using it in demo mode. I was so impressed I got the pro version, which is great for recording up to two guitars and two XLR mics from an M-Audio USB Mobile Pre. As an illustrator, I might hope my work could someday touch someone's heart, but a musician has the potentital to touch a person's very soul.
