Jbass46
Hey gang after a very long love affair with my Jazz basses I finally broke with tradition and bought a new and different bass. This came part out of necessity for new songs that are being suggested in my band and part out of a desire to expand my playing to a new level after many years. I bought a Schecter Stiletto Studio 6 . In a word.....WOW!! We are getting used to each other faster than I expected.....the neck on my jazz bass seems so tiny now. Seamy ALB
I take it this bad boy is a six string? Once you get onto them you really start to think "Why isn't everbody doing this?". Post a pic or a link, I'd like to see this and health to play!! http://www.facebook.com/pages/A-Little-Bitter/185235472447

Seamy ALB
AHH man that is so sweet!! Out of curiosity what is the material that ya felt ya needed the 6 for is it covers or original? I find it great for when our guitar player tunes drop d and also for filling out space in the trio format. Again that is a very nice bass. http://www.facebook.com/pages/A-Little-Bitter/185235472447
Jbass46
Right now we are a trio with a lead vocalist (just dismissed one of our guitar players). So it will give me more range to do more interesting fills/chords when the guitarist breaks for a lead. We are also starting to look for a keyboard player to round out our group. One of the groups we cover is Dream Theater (six strings a necessity) we are also starting to work on originals and I really want to write the bass parts with a six string in mind. Been playing my 4 string Jazz basses for many, many years and will probably never give them up - this just felt like the next logical step. jlrush
Sweet axe! I like the natural finish and neck through constuction. Mind if I ask what it set you back? Visit my band's new web site. www.themojoroots.com

Jbass46
jlrush - really wasn't bad. Bought at a local music store for $659. List is $999. This particular store is competitive with mail order prices though.
Fred TBP
You'll find this strange to hear, Jbass46, but don't sell your jazz basses and say "never" to 4 string playing. It'll be equally refreshing and rewarding after awhile on the 6 to return to your roots. Take it from one who plays 4, 5 and 6 - new can be fun and rewarding, but sometimes it's nice to take a walk down the old neighborhood now and then. Jbass46
Don't worry Fred - no intension of giving up my Jazz basses. They are part of who I am. Do have a question though. Do you find it difficult transitioning between 4,5,and 6 string? And thanks everyone for your kind comments. She is sweet ain't she?
