DC Ross
Hey all, Do you think a 100 watt Hiwatt through a 4ohm Ampeg 4x10 can hang with a loud rock drummer? Thanks! -DC Ross It's not simple to be simple. -H. Matisse Ross Precision Guitars

getz out
I agree with Rob. Which Ampeg 4x10? The SVT410HE? I owned that cab. I liked it. It can get very loud with the right EQ, and the Hiwatt might be the ticket. Turn the treble down on the head and the tweeter off on the cabinet. DC Ross
Thanks, guys. getz, it is the svt410he. I like a slight bit of overdrive, so I think I may lug it out tonight & see what happens It's not simple to be simple. -H. getz out
That SVT410HE is a good cabinet. Watch the low EQ with it, and if you turn off the tweeter, dip the high EQ, too. It honestly can sound like a mini-SVT cabinet. It is effectively the same design (sealed cabinet, two woofers per internal compartment). I would love to hear a review when you get a chance to try it out.
DC Ross
My mistake, it's a SVT410HLF, not the HE. The rig sounded really good, but a bit underpowered. It'd be great for recording or if it were miked. It's not simple to be simple. -H. Matisse Ross Precision Guitars
