EddiePlaysBass
I woke up this morning (this is not a blues song) hearing my momma whine (seriously, it's not a blues song ). You see, the previous night my sister had gone out, and had a little too much to drink. So she calls my parents and says "hey come and pick me up, and we'll get my car in the morning." No harm done so far, right? Wrong. The police calls my dad this morning: "Do you own a Daihatsu?" Yep. "Where is it currently located?" Well, near this pub ... "We have bad news for you, sir". No kidding ... Apparently some idiots broke in, took it for a joyride, stole the car stereo (brand new) and then set the damn thing on fire "I'm a work in progress." ArwinH
Wow.......I'm sorry to hear that. I'm speechless. There are a lot of sick people in the world. I'm glad to belong to a community filled with such great people. Cheeers LDLD, Eddie....It's fortunate that you're sister is safe. Friends of mine have tried to sleep it off in the car overnight. www.myspace.com/movementwithoutmotion

The Geoff
This is just one of these things you have to mark down to experience. Gee, if I listed all the stupid things I've done.......... EddiePlaysBass
Ehm Geoff, stealing and consequently burning someones car goes beyond "stupid". I'm all for having fun, but this is criminal intent. "I'm a work in progress." Micky Barnes The Ross Brown Shirt World Tour
Dave Brown
How good is your insurance? I was out eating with a group of my finest students at a weekend event yesterday. The topic of conversation was "Serves you right." There seems to be a prevailing attitude that if trouble comes your way and you had some complicity in it, you deserve what you get. I will say unequivocally that I disagree with this attitude. Nobody deserves to be vicitimized...your sister did the best thing in the situation. It's a damn shame. Looks like a perfect car for carting an URB around! Yep. I'm the other voice in the head of davebrownbass.
EddiePlaysBass
Dave, it was a 14 year old car, so you can imagine there wasn't much the insurance company wanted to insure ... As for your student's attitude, I really don't see where they get that load of crap. My sister acted responsibly by not driving under influence, and got punished for it with a burnt out car. On top of that, she feels targeted and is gradually losing her confidence in a lot of people. But hey, I'll gladly set one of their cars on fire and then say "you had it coming", just to see if they'll stick to what they believe in "I'm a work in progress." Seamy ALB
Scumbag bastards! I despise people who damage other peoples property. I fail to see how anyone desrves to have an action like this bestowed on them. There simply are not strong enough punishments in place to deter this kind of behaviour. http://www.facebook.com/pages/A-Little-Bitter/185235472447
jcadmus
The good news is your parents can get a new car. But for the schmucks who did this, they're still just gonna be dirtbags. Too bad for them. I'm sure it will come back around on them -- in my experience it usually does for morons like that. Tim C
well, i guess such is life. it's quite the shame, it takes a real chickensh*t *sshole to do that to someone's car. at least you sister is ok better to hear "the car was trashed" than "the car was trashed while she was driving home drunk and she's now in intensive care" my dad lost a brother that way, losing a car is always better than losing a person. and hey, it was a daihatsu how much could the thing really have been worth? hmmm... kenfxj
Eddie - Be proud of your sister to have the sense to call for a ride. And be thankful that she is safe and well. Perhaps I'm a bit jaded, but where I come from this sort of thing isn't uncommon. Not that I blame you for being furious. These things are as aggravating as hell. But cars can be replaced. And people who do things like this always get what's coming to them in the long run. Please give your sister my condolences. Push the button Frank.
