Putting a touring band together.

Hello, I'm Lefty. I'm based out of Atlanta GA. I'm about to record an album with John Keane in Athens GA. I have interest from a small independant label. And I'm looking to put a band together that can tour in support of the album in Summer/Fall 2006.

I need Bass, Drums, and Keyboards.

This is a paying gig. However as I am the one financing everything it won't pay a lot right off the bat. The pay rate will be between $50-$100/ gig (depending on the gig) and I'll cover the hotel (1-2 rooms) expenses for the band. I'll also be providing the transportation.

The band is a Blues/ Jazz Fusion thing. Along the lines of Col. Bruce Hampton and the Aquarium Rescue Unit meets Miles Davis meets Jimi Hendrix meets Albert King.

Please check out my website. www.lefty-music.com

Listen to the music on the site and then contact me if you're interested.

Again, this is original Jazz, Fusion, and Blues. So if you're not into or interested in those genres please don't waste either of our time.

On a side note, Adam Nitti and Kevin Scott are the two Bassists doing the record.

Thanks

Lefty

It'll all be fine

I dig the music on your site.

I'd attempt to audition if I thought I was anything like capable.

Oh, and if I could leave my job... ;)

Have a great tour!

Agreed, agreed, etc.

Peace,

I'm a lot more like I am now than I was when I got here.

Thanks. Adam is a friend of mine. We used to teach together at AIM. He's only doing a few tracks. The rest of the record is being done by this Bassist from Dothan AL. He's freakin incredible. His name is Kevin Scott. Check him out on MySpace. I don't remember the exact address at the moment. I know I'll probably be crucified for saying this but I think he's every bit as good as Jaco was. Please just remember that It's only my opinion. And I think Jaco was amazing so I'm not saying it lightly. That's just how much I think of Kevin. Anyway, I've gotten quite a bit of response from this board so keep it coming. I hope I'll meet you guys when I'm out on the road. And as of yet, I still haven't filled the position. I've been getting a ton of out-of-state interest. And while I won't limit myself, Just remember If you don't live in The Atl. You'll need to relocate. And I want the band to practice for at least a month before we start gigging. I want the group to be really tight when we start out on the road.

Again, thanks and keep it coming.

Peace,

Lefty

I'd absolutely love to do it but I don't think there's a practical way for me to make it happen right now.

It might help to let people know how long the group will be touring and how many gigs/week they can expect.

Well, I'm looking for a permanent line-up. And I intend tour tour pretty much constantly for the next several years. At first It will most likely be 2-3 gigs per week but it should move quickly to weeks at a time on the road and then full time touring by late summer/ early fall.

My idea of touring is kind of like the Dave Matthews strategy. If there are 365 days in a year I'd like to be performing almost 300 of those days.

Hope that gives a clearer picture of where I want this to go. Also, as the group picks up momentum the pay will increase.

It'll all be fine
