Solo string sets ?

Hey,

I was hoping that one of you knowledgable fella's could help me understand the difference between solo upright bass strings, and regular. Im looking at the ropecores by the way. Just curious.

One step. Solo bass is tuned one full step above the usual EADG, so tuning them to orchestra pitch (the usual term for EADG as opposed to "solo" pitch) results in slightly lower tension.

 

Tune your current strings down one full step to come close to emulating the effect, at least for that particular set type.
