soup dawg
Hey, I was hoping that one of you knowledgable fella's could help me understand the difference between solo upright bass strings, and regular. Im looking at the ropecores by the way. Just curious. "Anything more than the truth would be too much." - Robert Frost
Bob Gollihur
One step. Solo bass is tuned one full step above the usual EADG, so tuning them to orchestra pitch (the usual term for EADG as opposed to "solo" pitch) results in slightly lower tension. Tune your current strings down one full step to come close to emulating the effect, at least for that particular set type. 1000 Upright Bass Links, Luthier Directory, Teacher Directory - http://www.gollihurmusic.com/links.cfm - Life is too short for bad tone -
