Anyone else seen this???I watched it over the weekend.

What an odd little show this was...

Here is the official plug:

Originally filmed in December 1968, "The Rock and Roll Circus" was originally intended to be released as a television special. The special was filmed over two nights and featured not only the Rolling Stones but The Who, Jethro Tull, Marianne Faithful and an all-star jam featuring John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Mitch Micthell.
My impressions:

Jethro Tull:

Thought that the sounded pretty good. Then I found out this out....

Did Tony Iommi ever play guitar with Tull?

Sort of. During the brief time in 1968 after Mick Abrahams left but before Martin Barre joined, Tull appeared on TV in a film called "The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus." They performed "A Song for Jeffrey," though only Ian was actually live; the others mimed to a backing tape. Tony Iommi was the guitarist seen in this film clip with Tull, and apparently he nearly joined the band. Mick Abrahams recalls, "Tony only did the Rock & Roll circus thing. He phoned me up afterwards and told me he couldn't stand it - he quit straight after that."

Can you image hearing Iron Man with a flute in it???

The Who:

Entwistle was on fire!!!!!! And I love his big phat 70's wah type sound he had going on. Man I wish I could have seen them live.

The Dirty Mac:

Pretty cool seeing Clapton, John Lennon, and Keith Richards (on bass) on stage at the same time. Too bad Yoko Ono had to get up as well and do some horrible screeching!!! UGGHH!! She sucks!!!!!

The Rolling Stones:

I could have done without Mick Jagger taking his shirt off during "Sympathy for the Devil" but I thought they put on a great show and enjoyed "Jumping Jack Flash" as well.

Some of the performers I wasn't familiar with or I'd write about them.

I really could have done without the whole circus setting, but I get that from the Stones album.

All I can say is that it was definitely the 60's!!

Legend has it the Stones wanted the project shelved when it first came out in the 60's b/c The Who smoked them, performance-wise, and Mick's crew didn't care for getting blown off the studio stage.

I did see it; it's kind of like watching midgets in the throes of passion... weird, rare, odd, yet extremely satisfying to watch.

...um...hope I didn't say too much.

No matter the real reason for the non-release, this "legend" would be in circulation. Some rumours are not only unsurprising, they are inevitable. ;)
