_Sweet Willie_
Hmmm, somehow my radar missed the arrival of this product to market: Click me! I actually think I prefer the other Dingwall models (Z2, baby -- like what a few of us played at BP Live last fall!). Laying down those fanned frets on something more traditional definitely resonates as a positive thing to me. 34.5" scale for the E string to a 32" scale on the G string. Mmmmm, me likey. I wonder if they'd be willing to do this in a 5-string. Cool. Peace. --s-uu spreadluv Fanboy? Why, yes! Nordstrand Pickups and Guitars. Messiaen knew how to parlay the funk. zeronyne
Someone over at Talkbass has owned one of these for a while, and I think Sheldon made it production model this year. It's an interesting take on the whole reason for fanned frets...sort of the flip side. "For instance" is not proof.
ATM
Better hide this thread from Davio. His poor girlfriend puts up with enough as it is. ATM http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/atmofmn/Bass/DeepThoughtsBS.jpg

Personally, the new model doesn't really do anything special for me (at least without getting to play one), but there is a strong possibility that a Z1 or 2 will end up in this part of the world in the near future... -P (up to 200 characters) You may use UBBCode in your signature. dcr
There's only one question: how's the sustain on the G string along the 3rd-7th fret zone? If it kills the Fender dead spot, then it's truly wicked. In a good way.
