Im a bass player in austin, and due to inconveniences, we dont have enough space to carry all of our stuff to houston...

Our options are renting a car, or any other motor vehicle, or try to rent equipmetn in houston.

Does anyone know of a place where i could rent a Bass or guitar Cabinet, that would be open on a saturday?

U-Haul?

$20 and you can fit all the equipment in and even play from it. :thu:

Mileage can be a killer in a U-HAUL.

Renting a minivan from Hertz or such with unlimited mileage is a good option (plus they're better on gas). I was able to fit a 4 piece band (2 guitarists, bass, and drums) in a minivan rental comfortably. No PA or mics, but everthing else was jammed in the back.

If you have a membership or affiliation, see if you can get a discount; NRA, AAA, AARP, etc.

You also get to use equipment you are already familar with. I know a place on the south side (in League City) called Danny D's that rents but don't know about prices. Danny is a good guy and very knowledgeable about almost everything.

You can try the Houston's AFM Local at 713-236-8676. I'm sure they can help you. The Secretary of the Local is Bob McGrew, if you call tell him that I suggested giving him a call.

I have basses to play, places to be and good music to make!

Even though it doesn't apply to me, For the gigging musician, I would always recomend that a the medium/long distance ve-hickle has triple A. In the US, it will get you out of some jams the first 3 times you need it. After that howeever, they may drop your a**.
If you think my playing is bad, you should hear me sing!

Is this the same band you want to quit? Just wondering.

Renting a 15 passenger van is optional as well. Leave the two back seats at somebody's place and use the space for your gear. I'm sure driving a rental is less stressful and easier than playing a rental.

Just my two cents worth.
