I really really really like Tantric. Their first CD stayed in my CD player for almost a year. 12 Stones ain't a bad band either. I'll update after the show on Tuesday night.

Is it working well for you?

It works so well that I actually have 2 Hohner B-Basses!

How is the new album in comparison? I've seen it in Best Buy several times and I keep not picking it up. I liked the first album, as derivative as it is. And "drownded" is not now, nor has it ever been, a word. :D

Good concert. 12 Stones opened up with a good show. Singer Paul McCoy definitely likes to get freaky on stage. I was impressed with the new bass player (don't know his name). He's one of those guys that have "spider" hands. Very smooth and fast. I was wanting to talk with the band after their set, but they walked off stage and disappeared. That was disappointing.

Tantric was freaking awesome! I couldn't tell any difference between them live and their albums. Todd Whitener is an incredible guitarist. He had an electric strapped around his neck with an acoustic on a stand, and switched between the two without loosing any cohesion. I will say though that the did have a second touring guitarist whose name I didn't catch that was unbelievable as well. Another point in Todd's favor was when vocalist Hugo Ferreira stepped off stage and Tantric performed a cover of Alice-In-Chain's "Junkhead". I've never heard a more accurate Layne Stanley imitation. It was just plain freaky! They also performed a cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Chains". Not much of a Fleetwood fan, but they do a damn good job covering the song.

Overall a really really good concert. Outstanding musicianship from Tantric. If you don't at least have their first album, you need to go buy it.

The 12 Stones bassist is high-quality. I own their first CD, and he really adds to the music in a way that most rock bassists don't. I'd probably love to see him play. 12 Stones is pretty good overall, but they are an ironic exception for me...some of my favorite bands have non-descript bass work, whereas 12 Stones is a band I like, but that isn't one of my, say, top 5 or top 10 bands, but the bass work I really enjoy.

And I like Hohner, too. I own a B Bass VI. Great harmonicas, I hear.

The 2nd album is good, just not as good as the 1st one, but still worth picking up.

I found out yesterday that the 12 Stones bassist quit the band and the guy playing with them was a touring bassist.
