dohhhhh6
They're both relatively easy to find at GC, try 'em out yourself. I'd say the OLP, since they both aren't active. I have an MM2 and think it's solid. Many others think the same. In Skynyrd We Trust
davebassman
I've only played a couple of OLPs and one SUB and I would say the SUB had a nicer acoustic tone. Didn't plug them in so I can't comment on pickups. The black finish on the SUB's neck had stuck to the guitar stand and was rubbing off like semi dried paint. It had been reduced about 40% in price. Tempting.
HypnoBassMan
Here is a group dedicated to discussing OLP basses! Check it out. Click => OLP Discussion Group on Yahoo I have a MM3 (the 5-string) and love it's playability. I have not compared it to a SUB plugged in but I like the playability of the MM3 better.
