I finished it. I'm slow reading, I read it only on my lunch hour at school.

I'm trying to figure out who this band is.

Velvet Revolver seems the likely guess with Slash as the alcholic, and the singer (what ever his name is) as the guy who is "too sexy for himself".

Definitely not Audioslave, Tim C and the drummer (forgot his name) are too good to be how they were described. Same with Tom Morello.

Its probably some Pop/Wanna-be-Rock band. :P

OK, based on the time stamp on these two posts you thought about it for less than a minute. A little cranky today, perhaps? ;)

Where's the luv? :(

UPDATE:

So, it took a while, but after receiving Bump's copy of the book (Thanks again! ), I was actually unable to get right to it for a bit.

Thanks to a recent cross-country flight, I have finished the book. 5 hours straight through, and hungry for more. :)

But now, as promised on page one of this very thread, the time has come for the passing of the tome, and the lucky reader could be among the very Low Down assembled here. Or there, or wherever.

If you are interested, reply here, and I will make sure to send you the book, ASAP. However, in the spirit intended with my receipt of the book, you must agree to post here when finished with it, and ship it to the next interested party.

That's the deal.

Who's interested?

Peace,

I'm interested. However, I think I have another source so you can bestow the tome upon another reader. Might as well send it back across the country to ChrisofDoom. It could become an interesting artifact as well if each new LDL forumite who reads it signs their name and indicates their location before sending it along... just a thought. Maybe not a good one, but it's out there for all to see.

Peace.

I'd be willing to spend some quality time with a good book, but I don't think it would be that sensible to ship a book across the Atlantic though, at least when there are takers in the US still.

What would be cool is that if everyone who read the book would sign it, and once it would finally return to Bump he could put it on a frame or something, or sell it on Ebay :P ...

I am down with the affix-tion of nomenclatura, as it were. Bump's name is already so inked, and I'd be willing to join in.

But, as it IS Bump's book, I'll wait until I hear from him. Never been one to vandalise books, especially other people's.

Ah, thus, in the end, Bump would be the keeper of the Book of Flame as it were. That, mes amis, is quite the loaded nickname for the Mixerman tome as read by a bevy of bassists.

If Bump does indeed greenlight the idea, I would like to read this special "signature" volume next -- if that works for wraub and Bump.

Peace.

Pending Bump's reply, I am down with that.

A good excuse to have that drink, maybe check out a band... Hell, maybe even finally get me out to your house.

Or maybe I'll just send it to ya.

:D (Nuthin' but Luv...)

Indeed. But do we really need an excuse?

Perhaps something involving a few minutes of your time on the Fish as well. We'll talk and figure something out.

Peace.

It's good to see that others have the same ideas that I have. I was going to post this very signing of names idea and you guys beat me to it.

It would be most bitchin if everyone put their name and location in said copy of said tome. When and if it ever finds it's way back to me, I'll be sure to do something cool with it; definitely take a picture or two of the name list.

I was thinking of buying a copy for myself. Whether or not I do this, I would be interested in signing and adding a photo to this project. Willie - when said meeting occurs, let me know. Perhaps a Low Down Meeting and we could all do some ink (if that's OK). I wish we had the time to actually read the thing out loud with the whole group!

The plan is thusly set.

Dr. to Nutt to COD, like a literary double-play ball or something.

Willie, let's palaver on that date. I'd definitely like a go on the Fish, if that can be arranged. :thu:

I am not sure that it is OK to read a book without paying for it. I am sure the author would like it better if everybody who wants to read the book actually buy it. Isn't that the kind of parasitism public librairies... I don't like it when people act as if they deserve the read but don't want to pay for it. ;)

(p.s. for those who might think I am serious AND crazy, this is only an ironic comment based on the Behringer pedals thread...)
