I own a cort bass that had the bartolini pikups and preamp found in the Josh Paul (I think) and they're not great. They sound OK but just lack character (kinda thin sounding). The pre amp is nosiy (esp treble). I bet the bass is made well and the sound is OK, you might want to up grade down the track. As for the SR SUB I'm not sure. Both basses will sound pretty different so I guess it comes down to whether you like the stingray tone or the more modern cort sound.
