Craigster
I'm looking to improve acoustics in a recording bedroom and an office room control room. I'm interested to hear of people's experiences with Primacoustic or Auralex products (or good competitors). Any success stories or recommendations? And disappointments? Thanks much! StoneKnife
There is a new Auralex product called the Studio Foam Designer Kit that comes in the 12" squares, but in a directional saw-tooth pattern, so you can control the patterns you create with it. I've liked it a lot (and it looks great, too). The 3" wedge (in the 2' x 4' panels) has a very good absorbtion rate. A combination of the two is pretty versatile. "We are the Federales... Mats Olsson.
What about pricing on Auralex products? I have not found any info on the web. /Mats http://www.lexam.net/peter/carnut/man.gif What do we want? Procrastination! When do we want it? Later! DC
Most of those designer absorbers are just way overpriced IMO. Plus, they mostly address highs and high mids where bass causes the most problems. The way my room worked out, the drop ceiling tiles took care of all of my high and low treble and high mid needs and I only needed to make some low mid, and low end absorbers. In other words, you can get a lot of mileage out of drop ceiling tiles. -David http://www.garageband.com/artist/MichaelangelosMuse
