Botch.
A very good article about the history and current state of rock radio, I learned a couple of things! http://www.cnn.com/2002/SHOWBIZ/Music/06/20/radio.daze.ap/index.html Botch "Eccentric language often is symptomatic of peculiar thinking" - George Will www.puddlestone.net
schnicklefritz
That's one of the better articles I've read on the subject. That f*ing s%$tbag at Clear Channel is so smug I'd like to kick the crap out of him. The stuff he says is just infuriating. Him and his evil corporation have been allowed to mutilate and destroy something that allegedly belongs to the American people. "Hey, this is what the people want." Bulls^%t! What an a$$hole! I'm forty years old and live in the San Francisco Bay Area. There are no, I repeat, NO rock radio stations in this area that I listen to. There used to be four or five good ones. And it's not just rock. All of the contemporary music stations are computer programmed s^%t. The only stations I can stand to listen to are the local PBS stations and the one local classical station. I've worked in stockbrokerage for nearly 20 years. I'm about as capitalist as you can get. (And I'm old enough to remember when radio was really creative and even brilliant.) But radio is an ugly example of corporate dollars and total corporate control being far more important to elected officials than any sham ideas of "we the people." In 15 or 20 years there might be enough uproar to cause some reform but I doubt it. Sorry for the rant but this subject really makes me livid. I used to listen to commercial radio quite a bit but I don't anymore. It's been taken away from all of us and that's a criminal shame.
Wewus432
Yeah radio really sucks. We've got this one little radio station in the area (WNCW) run by a community college that is about the only decent station around. The other day on there I heard Patty Griffin, Widespread Panic, Little Feat, Lyle Lovett and a bunch or stuff I'd never heard before. The one bright spot on the dial 100.7.
