You didn't have the option of keeping him on the island if his signal to noise ratio were reversed. I think I've seen... five or six serious on topic posts out of... How many thousand is he up to already...? C'mon Wewus -- we like you and we know you like to hear yourself talk, but can you try to keep things little more relevant to music? Pleeeeeeeease?!?!?!? :D ;) :p

Or banjo tuning stories. I really believe WeWus is a banjo tuner in real life. He hopes some banjo player out there actually thinks his banjo is out of tune and needs someone to tune it. That will never happen so WeWus has time on his hands & therefore, time to post as often as he does.

You can still stop by once & again. Too busy for music is a bitch but don't forget your ffffoooorrrruuuummmm ffffrrrriiiieeeennnnddddssss. WeWus is a WUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. Really a pretty cool guy with way too much time on his hands. Christ, he's a piano tuner. Can't be too much work out there. Probably less than a bagpipe tuner.

PopMusic: See here's the problem. This thread is about as far off topic as you can get and yet you've got 23 people, who have voted so far and 10 people, including you who have replied to the OT. What you say about my serious threads is total bullshit. Gee, remember Saturday or Sunday when I replied twice to your topic about Sonar telling you how to set it up so you would quit trying to cripple the software and make it work like a tape machine. Right under that is a topic that I was the only person to reply to about SCSI vs Firewire CD burners and I gave the transfer rates for Firewire, USB 1.0 and 2.0, and SCSI, right after that I gave a guy advice on Soundcard upgrades. If you go over to the Keyboard forum I replied to a topic about sofysynths, if you go to the Guiitar forum I replied to a topic about alternate tunings. That is all recently. I have hundreds of serious ON TOPIC post. I don't think you even read the forum, you seem to have a very selective memory. A lot of your post are not really ON-Topic. I don't consider Invent a New Kind Of Electronica as a serious topic. That's a joke isn't it? And stuff like Most Misguided Beatles Cover Of All Time is just fluff. And then there were 2 or 3 threads about you changing your name. OFF-TOPIC. I couldn't care less about Toby Keith, The Bee Gees or Mick Jagger being knighted but if people want to talk about that then I'm fine with it. I got a lot of replies recently to serious topics about Genius and The Constitution and The Bill Of Rights. Sorry if you weren't interested in those subjects but a lot of people were. I guess you missed that discussion a while back where Craig said OT subjects WERE acceptable. I've only started 6 topics in the last five days. Nobody is forcing you to read what I write, and yet for some strange reason you do. Franknputer: I can't believe you would step near this thread. You have replied to almost every Off-Topic thread me or anyone else has ever started and started quite a few yourself. Khan: Bite Me.

Khan, very funny! Wewus, lighten up, it's just for a laugh. We've seen your serious posts, plus things couldn't have gotten much sillier than when you were gone and all the Wewus wannabees sprang up. My only problem with you and/or anyone else is trying to purposely up your post count. This I do not get?!

Dave, how's the nose? I, myself, haven't done that with the post count lately. I really don't care how MANY post I have. PosterMusic has said that before and apparently he doesn't read the forum so I felt the need to set him straight.
Originally posted by TheWewus: What you say about my serious threads is total bullshit.
Wewus, if nobody felt that there was a problem with so many off-topic posts/threads, would this thread even exist? Maybe you don't see it that way, but apparently other folks do. Check the poll results.
Originally posted by TheWewus: Gee, remember Saturday or Sunday when I replied twice to your topic about Sonar telling you how to set it up so you would quit trying to cripple the software and make it work like a tape machine.
I remember that -- that was among the "serious" posts I remember you making. And I was exaggerating when I said you only had eight posts out of several thousand that seemed helpful. :p But my overall impression is that the number of informative music-related posts seem few and far between, at least compared to someone like Lee, Phil, Alpha, Craig, Tedster, Nika, Curve, or any of the other 1000+ posters. Obviously you know some stuff about Sonar and piano tuning... I don't know your other areas of expertise, but I'm sure there are other somewhat music-related subjects you could offer helpful advice on. Or at least engage in a debate where it appears that you're listening to what other people have said. Maybe you are listening, but a lot of times it doesn't come across to me like that.
Originally posted by TheWewus: A lot of your post are not really ON-Topic. I don't consider Invent a New Kind Of Electronica as a serious topic. That's a joke isn't it? And stuff like Most Misguided Beatles Cover Of All Time is just fluff.
The electronica thread was about music -- and I was hoping that some of the ideas in there would inspire some people to maybe try out some of the crazy production techniques we were coming up with. (Wager47 even said something to the effect -- probably half jokingly -- that he couldn't wait to try some of them out.) No, it's not a serious topic, but I thought it was something of a contribution which might stir up creative music ideas in other people. The Beatles cover thread? Sure, it's fluff and maybe a little silly, but it's still about music. My motive behind that thread was to discuss how covers can go extremely wrong... And perhaps stop someone (even myself!) from making some terrible mistakes when covering a song. Again, it's a decent contribution IMO, still on-topic, still relevant to the board.
Originally posted by TheWewus: I couldn't care less about Toby Keith,
Neither could I. I've never heard any of his songs. That thread (although it really didn't get discussed very thoroughly) was about... was there some sort of network television bias because his song was a patriotic song -- particularly an *angry* patriotic song? Again, it's about music, with a little bit of politics thrown in. It's too bad it didn't get discussed as thoroughly as I thought it would.
Originally posted by TheWewus: The Bee Gees or Mick Jagger being knighted
These are artists that a number of people on these forums find interesting. Maybe you don't, no big deal. There are artists who are discussed on these boards I could care less about too. But they're musicians, and they're relevant threads.
Originally posted by TheWewus: I guess you missed that discussion a while back where Craig said OT subjects WERE acceptable. I've only started 6 topics in the last five days. Nobody is forcing you to read what I write, and yet for some strange reason you do.
Yes, I saw that discussion, which also happened a couple times in various forms before you started posting here. Look, all I'm saying is that I (and I think a number of other posters, who maybe haven't spoken up yet) would like to see you post things that are more useful/interesting to other people or music-related. Maybe you've been doing that lately and I haven't noticed, but my impression from your posts in the recent past is that they often... uh... lack substance. Sometimes I do find your off-topic stuff funny, I'll give you that. But it'd be nice to think, when I see that a post is by Wewus before reading it, "Oh, I bet this is an insightful post of substance" (as I do when I see a post by Lee/Craig/Phil/etc.), rather than, "Oh geez, I hope this post isn't gonna be another waste of time".
Originally posted by TheWewus: And then there were 2 or 3 threads about you changing your name. OFF-TOPIC.
Wewus, can I jog your memory? I'm not angry or PO'ed at you Wewus -- I think you're probably a pretty cool guy... And I hope you're not too angry or PO'ed at me for saying what I've said above. I usually keep my mouth shut about stuff like this (netettiquite), but in this case I feel like I had to say something because I dig these forums so much and would hate to see a bunch of Wewus wannabees get onto the board and think that they too can post incessantly about every single thought that comes into their head. If you are already making an effort to curb the silly stuff and to boost the substance in your posts, great -- I'm sure over time nobody will even feel the need to create a thread like this. Oh well, I've said my peace. Hope I didn't piss ya off too much, but I felt like I had to say something. I am looking forward to seeing more relevant posts from you, Wewus.... As an aside, I will be getting a piano soon, and I'll need some of your advice on tuning. ;) :thu:

PosterDad: I think your comments are inapproriate on a joke thread. Me and Khan have been picking on each other for a long time but since you don't seem to read the forum I guess you didn't get that. This poll was a response to one of my threads. Hey five people like what I do, that's enough for me. BTW I really don't need your approval or permission to do anything. I guess you don't "get" me, well I don't "get" you. If everybody was like you this would be a very boring place. Anyway if you've got anything else to say why don't you private message me, which is what you should have done in the first place.

Ah, geeezzz!!! Wewus, Dix, Phil, Lee, etc... Nobody loves me. Nobody hates me. I'm sooooo unpopular... Just for the record: I voted that Wewus be banished to the dungeons of Harmony Central. But, I was just taking a stab at him -it was a joke. I didn't know that there was going to be this inner-turmoil issue thingy when I voted, otherwise -well,- I'd probably still gone for the cheap stab at Wewus. But, my point is... Well, I really didn't have a point other than to tell everyone what I voted for. I'm such a FOOL! On a serious-er note: I like Wewus, and don't mind his postal excesses at all. The only thing that frosts my calvinater, is when I have posted a question -which I do once in a while- and I was really hoping to get some great answers, and then hardly anyone responds. Well, I guess I can understand that the people in the 'expert' forum just want to blow off some steam between sessions, not turn this into an advice forum. But, then Wewus will post a topic on nothing (well, I think I remember one being completely blank), and get something like 20 or 30 responses! And, I'm like, just not getting it! So, that kind of sucks. Especially since I really enjoy this forum, and feel like I'm getting to know a few people, and hopefully, people are getting to know me too. All of this, of course has nothing to do with Wewus. It has to do with how people view their involvment here. Some seek to answer questions. Some seek to just chit-chat about whatever. Some want to talk shop with others at their level. That's the reality of the forum, and if you can't get what you're looking for, maybe you're in the wrong place Just my thoughts :)

Well Super8, I'm sorry if I've ever ignored any serious question you've asked... but it's probably because I just don't know the answer. Maybe you just ask really tough questions! :) Sometimes too I have every intention of answering someone's post or email but it requires a lot of thought and I might not have enough time to really think about it, and by the time I do it gets buried by new topics. That's the one thing that can suck about the Internet sometimes. So many cool people and interesting things to discuss, so little time! I HAVE always meant to tell you that I love your signature quote! --Lee

Wewus, I think the thing that bothers me is the posts where you have joked about running people off. You don't care that long term members left because of all the nonsense, you don't care that people complained, you don't care about anything but making a splash and raising your posting number. It was all about Wewus and that is very selfish. Then, after your post about how to raise your posting numbers quickly by making post on the other boards you post nonsense threads like this one on the Keyboard Corner I was mad and I worried that you were going to destroy the other forums just to raise your numbers. When people voice their displeasure you still don't seem to understand. You get mad and call people names and deny there could be any problem. In fact, as long as you are happy “To Hell with anyone else”. Anyway, you do seem to have cut back just a bit lately but I do wish that back when this started Craig would have edited your account and give you a post count of 100,000 or so. Maybe then you would have what you want and things here would have settled down before some of the regulars left. Robert Edit: Oops. Forgot to mention. Maybe you should just start a "TheWewus" thread. You could have a Wewus topic of the day. A Wewus joke of the day. A Wewus saying of the day. All the Wewus stuff you want without scrolling everything off so quickly.

This post edited for speling.

I do know where you're coming from, most times, & have had lots of laughs. I've also been somewhat agravated by some of the petty, nonsensical posts. Realize that YOU are the one who started the "let's get rid of" posts. It came around and bit you on the ass. Suck it up & show us what kind of a person you really are & get the hell off your high horse. If you don't, I have a feeling you'll fall off. As a, maybe not so valid lesson, but then again maybe so...I have a great cowboy friend who happens to be a REAL cowboy. Done it all. Now a days he runs a riding stable & gives lessons. He was getting off one of those four footed shit burners & his weight pulled the horse off balance & crushed my friend against a barn wall. He has, luckily, only broken ribs. He's Fucking 84 years old & got busted up & got back on with no hard feelings. You are one hell of a lot younger, got kicked in the shin a bit & now you're crying. You're holding hard feelings for people who have taken offense with some of the things you've said, posted or responded to. Get over it. This is a public forum & nobody has to like you. For you to take it personal, after all the high flying, I'm a really light hearted person & just have fun kinda guy, is ludacris. (screw the spelling, I'm pissed) You put more shit on anyone else, in a light hearted, fun kind of way?, well maybe, but, it might have hurt the person you poked fun at. What goes around comes around & now you're getting yours. Stand ther & take it like a man, or woman, if that's what you are. Don't go getting all pissed of at everbody that's taking a shot at you now. You shot first, now duck & run or stand up & be proud of who & what you are. If you can't take the heat, get out of the fire. You maybe very well happier on the Harmony Central forum. The flames run really high there. Be cool dude, don't bite off your nose to spite your face.

Ya know Dak: Even I'm sick of threads about TheWewus, but people just keep dragging them up. I was playing a joke on Khan and FranknPuter the other day and they both knew it, then Khan played his joke on me and I knew it. That doesn't mean I'm not going to spar with people a little bit. I LIKE to argue sometimes and if people say stupid things I'll call them on it, that doesn't mean I hold any ill feelings towards them. You seem a lot more upset about this than I am. If you want to bitch at somebody bitch at Khan.
