The Bear Jew Posted June 17, 2002 Posted June 17, 2002 Yo! If youse are trying to merge onto 76 West from the South St. onramp, youse BETTER stop. I ain't slowin' down or switchin' lanes to make it easy for ya. Just kidding. The drivers here in Philly DO kinda suck, but the worst drivers I've ever encountered were in New England (specifically Boston.) They won't use turn signals, won't look before switching lanes or pay attention to red/green lights. Every time my band tours in New England, we fear driving amongst the "Massholes" when we get past Connecticut. We do, however, always have a blast in Boston, which makes up for the scary drivers. I actually write and edit for a living. You would not believe some of the stuff I have to correct every day. Here's a quote from a recent article: "There were some trends, internal in nature, that did seem to positively affect suppliers — if not their sales volume — then at least their efficiency, therefore perhaps their profitability." What the hell? Charles Dickens would probably be proud, but nobody else has any idea what this mess means. I also interact with a lot of teenagers online through my band's "street team" of kids who help spread the word about our music. I'd never, EVER let any of them write a press release for us. Holy crap. The spelling and grammar could make a strong man cry. \m/ Erik "To fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists of breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting." --Sun Tzu
popstalin Posted June 17, 2002 Posted June 17, 2002 My Pet Peeves are as follows: People in cars - What are you doing driving on my road?! People who cross the street like they have no where to go and then stare at you the whole way - Hello, there is an ebb and flow, thank you! People who put their carts in line at the grocery store and then leave to pick up a few things they forgot and then get pissed at you because you went ahead! - Uh, have you ever heard of, "You lost your place!?" Flys - Even though they're called house flies, they don't belong in mine! People who are late - I was born a month late and have been early for everything else the rest of my life. If you say 6:30, then you better damn well be dead, injured or dead if you show up at 6:31 or not at all. That's it for now but I could go on.... I don't like most people and therefore the things they do really annoy me! Jen H.
Charlie-brm Posted June 17, 2002 Posted June 17, 2002 The crime of Littering. If I ever go to jail it's going to be for assaulting a litter bug. All my neighbours know it, so they won't be surprised when the news crew comes to the door to interview them: "He was a quiet man, kept mostly to himself, but yeah, Charlie said he'd do that one day." Murders and thefts have all kinds of reasons I might actually see, although they are still wrong, but I can't find a motive for littering. It brings down the whole place and takes any joy out of going for a walk. How the hell can someone carry a slurpy a mile down a hiking trail before they realize that whether they take it back out or drop it, they're an idiot? (Oh right. Part of being an idiot is not knowing it.) I live across the street from a high school. Talk about bugs. And they learn it from their parents as you discover when they pick up their larvae after class or show up for night school. It's OK to tempt fate. Just don't drop your drawers and moon her.
Tedster Posted June 17, 2002 Posted June 17, 2002 Yup. If I carry a can on a walk...and finish my drink, I crush it and stick it in my pocket. I litter profusely...the inside of my car. I'd never THINK of throwing something out the window. "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"

When "their" is used for "they're". There are more, but life is too short to dwell on them. (Notice I used 'There are'. I don't want to piss you off, Matt. :) ) Paul
I'm with you 100%. Dylan Posted June 18, 2002 Posted June 18, 2002 Morning radio! I can't be the only one who wants tunes in the morning and not some jackass trying to be Howard Stern. I've got a 45 minute commute each way and all I ask for is tunes!

Chaz Posted June 18, 2002 Posted June 18, 2002 My biggest pet peeve....LIFE. Just kidding. I think I agree with Jen. My biggest pet peeve are people who are ALWAYS late for everthing. Or, when they ARE going to be late, never call to let you know they are running late. My second biggest pet peeve is having someone in the studio who thinks they know what they are talking about, but are absolutely ignorant of everything that comes out of their mouths. Also...everything said about drivers in PA is true for Tampa, FL as well. Just my 2 cents. Haven Music Productions Tampa, FL www DOT havenmp DOT com
Dak Lander Posted June 18, 2002 Posted June 18, 2002 People with pet peeves... :D Inconsiderate smokers. Sloppy, belligerent drunks. Know it all attitudes. Those stupid looking, obnoxiously loud, trumpet exhausts on the too many chopped up VW Bugs left in existence. Lowered pickup trucks. ikestr Posted June 18, 2002 Posted June 18, 2002 One of my biggest pet peeves just happened to me tonight. I hate going to the laundrymat and there arent any washers available. What peeve's me more is the person doing 18 loads at the same time.... WTF!!!...cant they portion out their laundry time. I just want to slap these people and say 'Get a Goddamned clue!' ....hmmmm....I feel better after that. ikestr ...hertz down low....
