popstalin
Well, wondercrush has finally done it! We are prepared to record. I just got home from out studio (really, that's what we call it, long before we were recording there) and we got all the sounds and now there seems to be more bleed from the drums in the bass mics than the other way around, so we've solved the bass bleeding problem. We are pleased with the sound we have so far and know, at this point, that without mixing we're already sounding better than some of the discs that are being sold by indie bands. Now we'll see how well we can actually play! Jen H.
Dwarf
That's cool, Jen. Did you get the floor tom sound you were looking for? -- Rob I have the mind of a criminal genius.....I keep it in the freezer next to mother.
popstalin
For the most part. It was a little ringy for recording purposes but a little piece of duck tape, folded all special like, took care of that. I actually cheated and bought one of those stupid drum key torque wrench things - which really helped. I'd suggest to anyone looking for a quick and easy way to tune a drum kit invest in one of these things. When I get the tracks home and a rough mix done, I'll post the results. Thanks for your help! Dwarf
Which one did you buy? The drum torque or the drum dial/drum watch. I have a couple of the drum torques and I swear by them. -- Rob I have the mind of a criminal genius.....I keep it in the freezer next to mother. popstalin
The drum torque, the plastic doo-hickey with the lug and claw attachments. I have never tuned my drums so fast. I think I'm gonna swear by mine from now on. I've always had trouble tuning drums... stupid for a drummer but I know many have problems. Jen H. gabrielk
Nice! I'm about to spend Sunday doing a 1-shot session for a single. It's gonna be a blast taking a break from this tedious project I've been working on...going from matching drum machines to not-always-on-time guitar strums to just setting up mics and hitting record. Good luck on the recording, I wanna check you guys out next time you're in Centre City! //Gabriel.k
