Mr M Pulsive
Congrats tele, it's a killer bass. Only issue I had with mine was the glossy neck, but I'm picky about that. If you haven't noticed yet, that's one HOT preamp. Keep an eye on your amp's clip light until you get used to it! For a really righteous fingerstyle, preamp on/both vol knobs full on/both tone knobs at 50-75%. Oooo yeah. -Mike ...simply stating.
Basshappi
Beautiful Bass, Congrats! The case is almost as pretty as the instrument! Bob Gollihur
Nice bass, I played one looking like that at a local music store and had a problem leaving it there. If I wasn't playing 5 string most the time it may have come home with me. 1000 Upright Bass Links, Luthier Directory, Teacher Directory - http://www.gollihurmusic.com/links.cfm - Life is too short for bad tone -
Rhythm44
Looks good! (for a J-bass ). Haven't seen one with the brace thing over the strings. Does it help or get in the way?? o Spector Spectorcore 5 fretless o Ibanez GSR200 o Peavey Basic112
jeremy c
The top pickup cover doesn't seem to get in Marcus Miller's way. It didn't get in Jamerson's way either. On the other hand, I took mine off over thirty years ago and it's been sitting in a drawer ever since. Free download of my cd!.
Rhythm44
I guess if it helps, then right on! It's right in the middle of where I play though, whether finger picking or using a pick o_O. o Spector Spectorcore 5 fretless o Ibanez GSR200 o Peavey Basic112
Mr M Pulsive
If it gets in your way, pull it offa there or learn to play around it. Many players (myself included) simply don't wanna deal with it. (I dig the look though.) -Mike ...simply stating.

prophetgtree
The first time I saw a bass with the pickup cover I thought to myself, "Why the crap would anyone ever put that on their bass?!" Now, after playing basses with that on there I realize that I really like it! I don't know what it is. Maybe the look, maybe the me not pushing the strings right into the pickup... who knows! www.geocities.com/nk_bass/enter.html Still working on it... 69tele
Thanks guys ! its a bit of love or hate it with this bass...I love it ! I always wanted a 70s J Bass and this one just fits the bill. Yep it is a very good looking bass and the tone is amazing. I was well impressed with the case actually as it is a standard fender case ! As for 5 strings there is a MIA 5 string version now available. The chrome thumb rest is not that bad actually I thought I would end up taking it of but for funky playing styles it helps and it also helps in the looks dept. Ernie If in doubt leave it Out ! That cover would be the first to go for me. I tend to pick all over the place depending on the song/piece played. When I need an anchor, I usually hang my thumb on the top of one of the pickups. If I were digging hard on the strings with a pick (like for hard rock/metal), the cover would get in my way. That being said, have fun with the bass. sevenstring.org profile my flickr page
