I've got an old '81 Carvin PB150 - any opinions?

I've been looking around for thoughts on a new rig. I have a Carvin PB150 head and 15" cabinet (reloaded with a JBL) and have been pondering about preamps to use with my AB 1100A power amp. I also have a Sunn Concert Bass amp head (opinion?). Personally, I think the single 15 sounds muddy and that may be why I feel the amp sucks. Maybe a 2-10 w/horn in addition? Advice please...

what kind of music are you going to play with it? Try Re-Eqing it to not make it sound muddy.

I don't know what else to say.

The amp has some really cool features; 2 channels - one with parametric, the other with graphic, or both as inputs. A harmonic sustain knob rests between them, compressor/limiter, bass boost, treble boost, crossover frequency (when used as a pre?). I've thought about ressurecting it just to see what sounds I can get out of it, but want to hear from anyone who may have one (or did). I called Carvin to see if I could get the manual in .pdf form, but noone there even knows what it looks like and says the manual doesn't exist any more...

Here is the link. I take no responsibility after that....

I played one at a jam session. The "Tone" knob has click positions - each one is a different eq pattern. Not the same as the usual bass/mid/treble arrangement. It sounded great! Of course, Demeter is a pretty cool item as well...
