Yar! Put a Godin A4 fretless on layaway!

Been searchin' the archives today, seems that Max V. is a fountain of knowledge on these... Thanks Max, for the info I've already gotten from you! This one seems to be a newer model (glossy headstock finish)... got some minor scrapes, bumps, & one small ding, but that's ok. It'll get more.

I played the A4 last night for nearly 2 hours in the store, and decided I couldn't let it get away. So I plopped down the 25% deposit (of $500 total price :D ) and put my first fretless in layaway.

....and the wait begins........

Sweet!! Can I borrow it when you get it? :D

Where do you buy most of your equipment? I can never seem to find any deals around town.

Music has no boundaries. It is yours to discover, to enjoy, to draw from and to pass on to others.

Urr.. umm, yeah..

Phil... 25% of $500 is $125, but I see how that could be confusing as I wrote it (editing it now). That's what I gave 'em last night. (sticker price was $550, but I buy LOTS of gear there... & they sometimes cut a little off the top. I've also clued 'em in on some items they didn't know about, so it works out well) :D

And Will... we should get together sometime. You're welcome to try out any gear I have on hand. I do most of my shopping amongst the used gear at Music-Go-Round on Hurstbourne Ln. It's close to my place and the guys there are super cool to deal with. There's alot of nice gear hidden among the junk, but when you're there as often as I am, you recognize anything new right away!

Well thank you very much....and congrats on the new A4 (new to you, anyway)! Welcome to the Godin club.

I am a Godin endorsee....hence my "fountain of knowledge". My fretted A4 and fretless A5 are my main perfomance basses, and I play them not only as a solo bassist but also in studio sessions and sideman work. I too fell head over heels (fingers?) for the tone and playbility of these basses. I have in the past coupla years spent some ehaustive hours with them and find they work well for all styles of playing..even slapping!

Congrats!
