Rotosound Black Nylon...

Mr. Phil

Recommended Posts

I just bought a set of Rotosound Black nylon strings. They are similar to a flatwound, except flatter. i put them on my kit P bass, and I LOVE THEM! They are very warm, which is good, cuz with the right amount of treble boost fromt eh bass, it sounds almsot like a URB.

Give me your input...what do you think of em? ANy experiences? good and bad...

I`ve used the tapewound fender strings. if those are simaliar, then I loved them. Used them on an acoustic I had once. I have been looking to try something new for fretless, maybe I`ll give them a try. How much were they?

Nothing you do in life is ever wrong, some things just aren`t exactly right. Or some crap like that.

They were $25 rub-a-dub-dub-three-men-in-a-tubby-tub-tub-OH-NO-its-a-bug!.

They are lacking in the midrange a little, so the G-string doesn't come out as well as the others. But they are very good for finger-style jazz. Thats about it...

I'm gonna record an acoustic rock song today with my band, cuz this bass and strings sound a bit warmer and less edgy and more like a URB which would be good for the song.
