Insane Clown Posse?

someone recently let me hear a couple of these guys albums (Milenko, Jeckel Brothers, The Wraith) I was amused by their genuine love for making people angry, but what caught my attention most were the basslines in their songs.

Most people would be to worried about the lyrics in the songs, but look past those at the basslines. They are simple yet amazing at the same time. A lot better than most rap basslines, but not as good as most rock basslines. So where do you catagorize these guys? They do a little bit of everything.

Just wondering if anyone else has any opinions about them.

I have no opinion on ICP, but did you just suggest that most rock basslines are better than most rap basslines?

I am not a big fan of rap, but even I have to disagree with that. Just wait until Sweet Willie gets here...

He did! What is he talking about? Maybe he was talking about guitar solos, not basslines, it couldn't be basslines, no....

I wasn't saying anything bad about rap bass lines. I dont really like rap or anything, but I respect it as a form of art.

My whole purpose for posting was just to make people aware of these guys as writers of some really good basslines.

You said they weren't as 'good' as rock basslines - considering a lot of rock bass lines are just 8th note roots (which definitely have their place and are critical to the sound, feel etc, don't get me wrong) I find it bizarre that you could call basslines like Rapper's Delight less 'good'. Y'know?
