Short scale basses are fine - most of the ones I've played have a sound of their own, and when that sound is appropriate, it's great. in fact, you've reminded me that I was going to look for one to give to my dad...

Jeremy - I had another picture. The "big" bass is next to a more traditional sized Read Custom bass. Jack told me that Boston might end up with the bassist strumming and Scholz fretting the thing...

The woman playing it is 6' tall...she's standing next to Tom Scholz who is 6'7". The band is Boston and the bass was built by Jack Read.

Now there's a long-scale bass....no wimps need apply.
