KikkyMonk
Could any suggest a rack mount or pedal (preferred pedal but im not afraid to go rackmount) that would get sounds like that heard on the flaming lips CD yoshimi battles the pink robots. If you've never heard the CD listen to it but to help you out think cheesy casio keyboard sounds. Dave
Addix Metzatricity
For my cheesy synth-bass sounds, I use a combination of: Line6 FM-4 Filter Modeler Boss SYB-1 Synth Bass pedal Ibanez PH-7 Tone-Lok Phaser pedal and whatever distortion you want to add (I use an Ibanez Tube Screamer, soon to have a wet/dry knob). KikkyMonk
Heh.. I didn't mean it as a chop at all otherwise I wouldn't be wanting to cop it! If I wanted a pedal that could only let through a band of freq (like a variable low cut and high cut to let some middle through) what would that be called? Cup
KIkkyMonk, I just love that c.d (and the one preceeding it) But like you I'm just blown away by the bass sounds. I've tried, fair enough with a Ric through an Ampeg svt3-pro, but I just can't get my bass to sound anything like a F'lips record. I think there's fretless, synth and regular bass there. Check out the Flaming Lips site for info, it's one of the best band websites I've ever visited. Cup
