NickT
I have got the details for a couple of session agents in London, with a view to sending them some gumpf about me. My (pro) drummer mate said they want a photo...no prob and a demo??? What the hell do I put on the demo? Tracks that I've cut with bands, drum loops with me playing grooves? How the hell do you put on a demo for session agents? PS: Any ideas for agencies in London that I should be posting to? I have details for Session Connection and B and H. jeremy c
Never heard of a session agent. Don't know why a picture would be necessary, no one ever sees a session player. Make sure your demo has some super grooving playing with various styles of bands. Forget about flash and solos. Personal recommendations would probably help, too. Free download of my cd!. NickT
Alot of session work goes through session fixers (aka session agents). They book players into recording sessions and onto TV mime gigs (hence the photo). These details have come to me from the (soon to be) ex-drummer from my function band (see the "Wooooo we got our guy" thread). He is a full time pro and is currently a band member for a member of a now defunct major pop act, as well as being a lovely bloke. I have been thinking about tracks for a demo. I can get some live funky blues cuts and some slightly progressive originals that I did for a mate. I'm thinking maybe about putting down some loops as well, maybe with progressions from current pop tunes. Free your mind and your ass will follow.
