NickT
The strings are great, but the customer service leaves alot to be desired. I sent them an email about a week ago entitled something like...I want to buy your strings PLEEEEEASE. I have had no reply thus far, not even a phone number for their UK distributor (which is not on the web site). Great product, but crappy customer care. Oh well, guess I'll just have to give my money to DR instead. Free your mind and your ass will follow.
jeremy c
Maybe it's just you. I just did a two second search on google. Merchant City Music Strings2go Blues and Stuff I'm sure there is at least one large music store in London selling Dean Markley strings. Have you been to the Gallery or the Bass Centre? Why do I know all this stuff?, I've never even been to the U.K. It's not that hard. Not every company has a guy sitting on a computer all day answering every email. Free download of my cd!. NickT
Jeremy...the three links you posted turned up nothing. The final one just had a link to the Dean Markley web site. The second one was a store that didn't even stock Dean Markley strings and the first one stocked only the guitar strings. The neither the Bass Centre nor the Gallery stock Dean Markley strings, neither is sure if they will be able to order them. So I guess it ain't just me. Frankly if a company has an email account called info@deanmarkley.com which you are directed towards if you want more information, such as the contact details for overseas distributors, I don't think it is unreasonable to expect a reply sometime within a week of contacting them. Even an automated reply that says..."we are very busy there will be a delay in responding to you" would be better than getting nothing at all. I thought it was only in the UK that we expected no customer service. The US was always held up to those of us in service industries as an example of how customer service should be done. I am not expecting any joy from either of the major stores in London. Free your mind and your ass will follow.
jeremy c
Sorry, I thought I could be helpful. Do the US companies like musiciansfriend.com or zzounds.com or 123music.com ship to the UK? Free download of my cd!.
_Sweet Willie_
Just Strings probably carries Dean Markley, and they do ship overseas. You could check in with them. Also, try getting in touch w/ C. Alex Claber on this forum. He seems to be able to get his hands on US gear and accessories at reasonable rates. He may have some ideas for you. Lastly, from what I've heard, DRs are nice strings! spreadluv Fanboy? Why, yes! Nordstrand Pickups and Guitars. Messiaen knew how to parlay the funk. The Fonz
i've never tried to contact dean markley customer service, but they can't be any worse than gibson. i got a set of mtd strings and when the e broke 10 minutes after i put it on i was non-plussed. i emailed gibson and the reply that i got was more or less "how dare you not like our products." after i called and screamed at a customer service manager they promised to send me a free set and never did. Eeeeeehhhhhhhhh.
NickT
Jeremy...sorry if my post came off a little...ass like. I was in a bit of a mood when I read it, I know you were just trying to help. AAAAAAAAAAAAND...The Gallery has been able to magic some from somewhere...God only knows how, and He ain't telling. I am going to buy some, just to check and see if they are as good as I remember them to be. If they are then...bulk purchase here I come. Free your mind and your ass will follow. jeremy c
No harm, no foul. (That's US basketball slang) Free download of my cd!.
The Fonz
Stated as fact by jeremyc: No harm, no foul. (That's US basketball slang)i always thought that was a watered down version of the street ball saying: "no blood, no foul" meaning you can't prove there was a foul unless the foulee is actually bleeding... Eeeeeehhhhhhhhh.
