check out the introduce yourself thread to find out pretty much what everyone plays. Also sometimes the search feature can come in handy for questions like this :)
Derek Smalls: It's like fire and ice, basically. I feel my role in the band is to be somewhere in the middle of that, kind of like lukewarm water. http://www.myspace.com/gordonbache

Another proud papa.

I play a BenLoy Bass (aka Geddy Lee Jazz Bass) about 90% of the time. It has DiMarzio Ultra Jazz pickups, a black/white/black pickguard, chrome-dome knobs, and flatwound strings. I like it.

The rest of the time is divided between an old Ric 4003, a Yamaha BB605, & a Sterling fretless. I like them too.

Finally, someone else who has a Tobias Standard! I hope you have enjoyed yours like I have mine :) . Here is a picture a friend made of my bass, added text, and emailed back like five years ago (low rez). It's the only close-up shot I have, though. And I believe they actually were finished in Japan, so I never used this pic. The rest is accurate though. These puppies were considered a steal new at like $1600-$1800 list.

Here is my main bass.

my main bass is a peavey cirrus BXP. you can't get them in stores just yet, but since i work for peavey, i'm specialer than you.

sometimes i pick up my lyon (washburn imprint like squier is to fender) p copy. i replaced the pickup with a bartolini p. it sounds really nice and is made of plywood. it came to me white, but i hand-painted it silver with craft paint when i was 17.

Will-Bass,

Your gear page does not show in Firefox (which then displays the source). That's not right. The internet is not supposed to be about proprietary, closed standards with certain monopolistic companies shutting out the free range. Please fix the code to w3 standards.

Sigh...okay. You talked me into it.

<----First, see my avatar. That's a stock Fender Geddy Lee Jazz Bass. If you're looking for a good Jazz, I can recommend them as a great deal for the quality.

Then of course, there's my Stingray:

I have a Zon Legacy Elite fretless like the one John Giblin happens to be playing in this photo:

Then I have a Messenger Electric Upright (mine is black):

And finally, my Juzek hybrid (carved top, plywood back. Year unknown):

plus a few others. I kinda rotate through my basses. Don't play fretless much (dog howls too loud when I do), the epiphone is for knocking around and leaving at other's houses, you can see the headstock of an EBO which I never touched until a few weeks ago when I made it a piccolo bass, and I have a cheap Johnson acoustic I like to bang around on a lot. My main axe right now is a homemade bass.

MIM P -- it had a neck (w/in the P style) that I really liked. I upgraded the electronics, put in some shielding and installed a Fender Original P Bass Pickup. It sounds really really nice.

I'm jonesing for a Thunderbird strictly based on looks, but I have to admit that my P sounds exactly like I want a bass to sound.
