if i found him taking "art " photos of my daughter, the next thing you's see is "art" photos of a Modulus Q5 portruding form his anus... and I'd have to sign his left cheek.

Praise ye the LORD.

....praise him with stringed instruments and organs...

Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD.

Jeezz..

I like Mike Gordon, too. I'm not a big fan of his bass playing or of Phish in general, but I loved his film "Rising Low" that he did for Allen Woody, and I respect his genuine love for the low end.

But that's just sick...I'm sure the workover the Hell's Angels gave him was punishment enough, though.

Okay, so what exactly does this "art photos" phrase mean? If the kid had her clothes on, what's the problem? The story didn't mention anything to the contrary. Photographers take photos of kids all the time. Just pick up a family-oriented magazine. Kids playing. Kids laughing. Kids with chocolate smeared all over their faces. These are carefully posed and executed photos by professional photographers. It's not illegal unless the child is endangered or exploited, but of course it's mandatory to obtain parental permission AND have a parent on site during the shoot.

and the parents apparently did not know where she was- they must have been upset. If it was innocent, i doubt he would have gotten the beating- just taking her to take pics, innocent as they may have been- without mom and dad's consent- well, thats kidnapping!-

Suppose he was walking along, sees a kid, takes her photo. That's your definition of kidnapping?? I don't see evidence of a crime here unless there was some sort of child molestation going on. Maybe there was, but I haven't read anything to that effect.

Jeez, whatever you do, don't take a picture of somebody's kid. The Hell's Angels will kick you in the nuts, and the NYPD will escort you to the slammer.

im not arguing with you - but "in a secluded boathouse in a dark area"- ? Ive played Jones Beach- i have an idea where they are talking about- i m very suspicious- and maybe im weird, but im im walking down the Strip with my 17 year old daughter and some dude starts snapping shots of here- clothed or not- its creepy- you ask the parents first if you are straight up- still- even if he;s innocent of malicious intent- he s is guilty of very poor judgement..

the fact that her parents were alarmed, they did not know where the child was, and he didnt bring her to them but instead took pics.. hmm, im just not buying it.-

and you're right , i wouldnt take a pics of someone kid- unless it was someone i knew, or asked permission, but still - i only tke pics of my kid.. so my nuts are safe!!

Exactly, that's creepy.

If you find a young child out in the middle of nowhere, you should probably help them find their parents, not take photos.

If you LEAD a young child to a secluded area to take photos without the parent's permission, that's kidnapping.

I'm with Bassaddik on this one... if I was the parent of this child, I don't think I would have called the cops. "Yes sir, he fell. Repeatedly. I tried to help him up, but he kept on falling."

i'm with everyone on this.

like the yahoo article i read on it, and in accord with Adrian and Maury, he's certainly guilty of poor judgement. but last i checked, poor judgement isn't illegal.

also, the parents have not filed charges. nassau county authorities are going to have a hearing to explore if any charges can be brought against him, but they haven't charged him yet, either.

so i also agree with Dan that there's nothing apparently criminal about what he was doing, either, and it appears to be largely much ado about nothing at the moment.

If someone has my 9 year old daughter alone in a building with him and I don't know about it, it's wrong. It may not be criminal (I can't speak to that), but there have been too many cases of abuse on LI (and everywhere) for that to be ignored. It was stupid on Gordon's part. I hope for the girl's sake that the pics were innocent.
