tnb
"School Days" - what is more easily recognized that? I have been itching to do that live for some reason. Oh yeah, I'll probably go down, but I'll go down fighting. "Glide" - by the '70 funk band Pleasure. "Slide" - Slave (another '70s funk band) Portrait of Tracy - we all know who "For the Love of Money" - The O'Jays with Mr. Anthony Jackson on bass using a pick and a Small Stone phase shifter. Insane. I am obviously feeling an old school kinda vibe this morning, but they don't write hooks like that anymore.

(or afternoon, or evening, or soundtrack to your dreamin' in the middle of the night!) I'm so with you on that I might as well be in Providence! I gotta put in: "Super Bad" James Brown "Doing It To Death" James Brown Not fancy, not tricky, not chops-laden, repetitive...but F-U-N-K-Y. Grooves I could loop all night to listen to, or grooves I could play non-stop for extended periods of time. spreadluv Fanboy? Why, yes! Nordstrand Pickups and Guitars. P-berger
Anything by Jaco for sure. Freewill - Rush, actually anthing by them Dinner music of the gods - Al Dimeola, this song has crazy bass that's actually really easy to play Golden Dawn - more Al D with Jaco on bass...you have to hear this piece. One Word - Mahavishnu Orchestra...check out the technical little riff and amazing solo on this one A little off topic, but the Iron Butterfly album "In a Gadda da vita"... I think that's the title, the first half of this album blew me away, the bass is ridiculous...check it out.
Bartolini
I forgot to mention another, Your Love(in Chicism Album)- by Chic, Bernard Edwards used a pick to play the bass and checkout how it is in the pocket with the rhythm section. Man, things cannot be groovier than this.
