What in the world? Recording Problem!

Recommended Posts

Help me out here folks. I'd done a basic bare recording into my computer. I was fiddling around with different plugins & settings. Somehow I did something & THIS happened. I don't remember exactly what I did but I couldn't undo it. Luckily, or maybe not, I didn't lose the original copy. I was fooling around with Cakewalk plugs into n-Track studio. Stereo Chorus is where things went awry. Wah Hoppin'?

I did not know Marilyn Manson was doing Country Music... That's of course a BAD mistake in your Chorus Plug In. Take a new look at those settings. BTW the tune sounds cool... Since I don't undertand the lyrics (ya know, Im not american) it could work as a back track for a movie of a guy on acid :D

That sounds cool. Don't know how it happened accidentally, but if that accident happened to me I'd say I did it on purpose because it's so groovy. :D Maybe keep the effect on the guitar, it's kind of like a slow-motion bowed saw in a way, fits the song. Good song by the way.

Thanks Bobro, I kinda like it too, as something different. The problem is, I can't duplicate it. I've tried to do different things & nothing even remotely similar happens. If anyone has a guess, I'll try it. The song is Cold Hard Truth by Jaime O'Hara.

Have you tried to apply again that chorus WITHOUT getting the same result? I had once a CakeWalk Plugin (a delay) which did not care about what settings I choose: it just did the same over and over and of course it was not what I was expecting.

Dak... I'm not real familiar with either piece of software but... Don't rule out the possibility of a random software glitch (especially if you use a "home" version of windows - 95, 98, ME, XP-Home) :D

Yeah Gus, I've tried to recreate with Cakewalk stereo chorus plug. It doensn't don anything strange & what does happen I can undo. I'm pretty sure Dix is right in this being a glitch. I'd like to be able to re-create it because I can see it would be a viable effect for guitar 7 maybe some other things.

Wish you could have recreated it Dak... & tell us how you did it. :D You're right... it would be an interesting guitar effect.
