saucyjack Posted July 24, 2003 Posted July 24, 2003 A Friend just gave me a Gibson EBO Bass to sale for him....looks like maybe early 70's.Serial #776097.In good(not mint)but nothing major...wear and tear stuff. What year is this bass? What's this thing worth? Did some prelim. searching but not much info. Smell the Magic www.Katp.com
Tom Capasso Posted July 24, 2003 Posted July 24, 2003 From the info on the Gibson site (http://www.gibson.com/search/serialnumber.html), it was made between 1970 and 1972. As to real value, you should look on ebay and other sale websites (talkbass?) to find that out. I've seen them hanging in my Guitar Center for $999, but they aren't worth that. The only interested peopleare collectors or "classic" types of people. I have a '69 EB3. Tom www.stoneflyrocks.com Acoustic Color Be practical as well as generous in your ideals. Russfingers Posted July 24, 2003 Posted July 24, 2003 Listen to Tom.He is the man on this bass. One signed by Jack Bruce went for $35,000 on ebay.
Tom Capasso Posted July 24, 2003 Posted July 24, 2003 Thanks Russ. The other place I thought of it www.thedudepit.com. They have a Gibson forum, and their guy Dave W knows his stuff. there are probably some back threads on EB values. saucyjack Posted July 25, 2003 Author Posted July 25, 2003 Thanks Guys. Looking around I'm guessing $350-600 ballpark...may trade it in at the local used Guitar shop for a Tele. Smell the Magic www.Katp.com
Cowbell Posted July 25, 2003 Posted July 25, 2003 Hey Russ, I thought that it was Jack Bruce's actual EB-3. I couldn't imagine a signed one being that much.
