Basster
I'm thinking of getting a 5 string but I'm wondering if my cabinet (2X10's) would do it justice. It's rated 64 Hz to 16k Hz. Any opinions would be appreciated. "I play the notes...but it is God who makes the music". J.S. Bach

Bob Gollihur
You won't get as much of the fundamental as some other configurations might offer, but you'll be surprised how well most cabs can fool ya. Our ears fill in that fundamental, and even though it won't be as loud as the response over 64hz, it will still be there. I had good sound from an earlier 2x10 I had and used with a five string, and until you put it alongside a speaker that rolls off at a lower frequency, you may not miss much. Besides, a lot of the advantages of a five string is better positioning for play, not just the extra low notes. Whappo
As Mr. Bob stated, make the investment in the 5, you won't regret it. Your 2x10 should work fine, so I wouldn't replace it unless you really need to down the road.
