QualityControl Posted July 13, 2003 Posted July 13, 2003 I am currently running my bass through a Peavey 2X10" combo amp, but recently blew a speaker. In order to lighten the load on my 10" speakers until I can get rid of the combo and afford a decent head, I'm planning on picking up a 15" cab, but I don't know much of anything about picking out a good one. Anyone have any advice? My budget's about $500, plus or minus a bit.
Mr M Pulsive Posted July 13, 2003 Posted July 13, 2003 Keep in mind that I haven't played a lot of different 15" cabs, but I'm very pleased with my Ampeg SVT-115EN. I use this cab more often than any other. Bought it used from Music-Go-Round here in Louisville for $270 in very acceptable condition for the price. (side note: it originally belonged to the bassist from My Morning Jacket... a Louisville band that's done pretty well for themselves lately.) -Mike ...simply stating.
... Posted July 13, 2003 Posted July 13, 2003 Bad End S15-D. Ka-pow. Small, lightweight, and tonnes o' sound. As I recall, BassNW sell 'em for around $425(?) It's been a while since I purchased mine, so I may be a bit off on that price tag.
bassingeorge Posted July 13, 2003 Posted July 13, 2003 Hello, I recommend you to try Carvin cabinets, they offer a wide variety of sizes and sound very good, they sell direct through their web site or in their store, I have a 15" cab with one of their heads and I love it. Prices; since they sell direct their not so pricey, for the 15" I paid $295! and for my 600 watt head about $580...not a bad deal Got bass?
