DigiVoices
So in a thread a while ago we were talking about Les Claypool and the songs that you need to hear. I suggested The Awakening having no idea that Claypool was not the one who wrote this tune. So who wrote it, can you tell me a little bit about him and where I can find more of his stuff? If the rest of it is like this song I really have to listen to more!
BenLoy
Otis Redding's son, Dexter, wrote the Awakening. He had a band called The Reddings that released that song as a B-Side in the 1970s.
DWBass
Dexter Redding is/was one of the baddest cats out there on bass! It was very uncommon , if ever done during that era (early 80's), for a bass and drums only song!! It's a shame he hasn't been out on the scene in quite a long time. I can't get any info on what he's doing these days!! I hope he hasn't given up the game! www.myspace.com/thefunkfather
