myles_rose
Modeling amps future is bleak via new tech breakthrough? It looks like in the world of high technology that even the state of the art developers have "discovered" that if you want great sound, there is really only one road to travel. My question is this I guess .... What are the modeling amp folks that use "computers" in their products to get the "tube sound" going to do when computers go back to using tubes? It sort of makes me think of when I was a child and I would sit in my parents bedroom hall with mirrors on both sides of me and look into infinity. ... .... ....... That may work for kids and mirrors, but it seems to me that it may not work for computers with tubes being put into amps to mimic amps with tubes? See the details at: http://www.guitaramplifierblueprinting.com/tubereturn.html Regards, Myles S. Botch.
I think my Atari Mega ST ran on tubes, too; I still have it! Seriously, though, tubes = heat = shortened digital life = dumb idea. David R.
There are so many things wrong with that that it just might be right. I will wait for the laptop version. Or maybe the next generation of computers that model the computers with tubes. Oy vey. -David R.
Dylan
The thing that cracks me up is that they're using the lousy AC97 chipset for audio. I can't help but wonder how they took the heat issue into consideration...
