Zorg
I went to a record store today and didn't know what to buy. Then I though of a picture of 311's bassist P-nut on the back page of a BP issue. That picture looked cool so I bought a 311's album From Chaos .It's a really nice album just my cup of tea.Any thoughts on 311? Scoot
I love 311. They were definitely one of the innovators of the now played out Rap/Rock thing. From Chaos is good, but you really need to get the earlier ones if you liked that. Get their first one, "Music" (the fave of most fans), "Grassroots" and "311" (aka "The Blue Album") are great too. "Transistor" was the "we're platinum now so we can do what we want" album. Good, but too much filler for my taste. Btw, their new one, "Evolver" comes out in July. It can't bee too bad w/ the Beatles reference. Ah, nice marmot.
sam 2000
I cant respect a bass player who would change thier name to a pun. a verb is ok but never a pun. but never really have liked 311 Becuase i dont like rap, as my friend would "what ever floats oyur boat the fastest".(Wruab i under stand that it is impossible to speed up the process of which makes a boat float it is just what she says :)ok) yea stuff like 311 is what made me go on the rant about how all music sucks now . promise never to go there agin
Travis Harms
311 is one of my favorite rock bands on the scene today. They can rock out, be funky, and be melodic at the same time. I first checked out 311 after I got my first issue of BP in 1997, which had P Nut on the cover. In my opinion, P Nut is really a great player and does not get the respect he deserves. He also has a killer tone that I wish I had.
Tom Capasso
I have one 311 album - I don't remember the name, but the songs still come up on the radio at times. To me, it is one of the best blends of rap and rock. I dig it. Tom www.stoneflyrocks.com Acoustic Color Be practical as well as generous in your ideals. The Bear Jew
Not a fan of 311. I don't get into the fake hip-hop vox, and I think the vocals are pretty corny overall. However, the band is really talented musically. I'm just not a big proponent of that genre at all. \m/ Erik "To fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists of breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting." --Sun Tzu
