hey yall

I got a chance to buy a 2002 ampeg b-2 combo for 475. Local deal here. Is that a good price or should I just buy a new 115HP for 599 at the local music store? The new amp has a built in tuner layback feature and is smaller to boot. What say you guys?

For the slap sound ,on my BEHRINGER,well it already had a good sound for slap, but I found that when I put more gian, and more low to get that thump sound and put the high up about half way more or less to get the good pop sound worked for me greatly...

Hey, where are you in WV? I'm in Beckley.

I've got a BA-210SP that the UPS guy should be delivering any minute now, I got it from a store in DE for $425. I figured at that price it couldn't be a bad deal. The BA-115HP has similar specs (size, weight, 220 watts) but I'd rather have the 115's tuner than all the effects that the 210SP features. $475 sounds like a decent deal on the B2 though. The downside to all of these combos is the lack of an external speaker jack.

Hey Banta,

I'm in "the rich section" :) Charles Town. I've only been thru Beckely once, didnt stay. Me and my GF are headed downstate ( as we call it up here) to Pocohontas Co. soon to chill for a few days. I think I am going to buy the 115HP....I dont care for effects and that box has some things the B2 does not....5 position style switch which is must faster than pushing a EQ up and down...I tried it yesterday and it's a damn nice sounding amp. It has a sound to it I could not get out of the other 4 amps I tried while I was there. Crate....YUK......anyways nice to know there a WV homie in the crowd! GO MOUNTAINEERS!!!!!!! :D:thu::cool:

I got a B2 about 7 years ago and still use it. One of the idiots in my previous band threw a hardshell case on it in the back of the van and knocked about 60% of the EQ slides off of it, but I can still adjust them with a pen or screwdriver. The only complaint I have is on the caster wheels that came on mine. Everytime you pick the amp up 2 or 3 of them fall out of the bottom, defeating the purpose of them. Then you have to lay the amp back and put them back in before you can roll.

Mine does have capacity for adding a cabinet which ups the wattage based on a drop in ohms or something like that (not my expertise) but I have not done that yet. Speaking of it, has anyone added an extra to the B2?

Hey, me and my buds are heading up to Pendleton County for a few days next weekend too. (We go through Pocahontas en route.) It's great relaxation. :)
