cramp
I am thinking of buying a super redhead, does anyone have any feedback on this combo?
Adrian Smith
They are awesome. I chose the separate head and 4x10 cabinet over one though. Search this forum, lots of posts about the Redhead. clatteramy
I love my Super Redhead! It has a great tone and lots of power for such a small package. Photo here www.clatter.com MySpace YouTube videos

Dave Martin
I'll add my vote; remember to disconnect the damn tweeter, though. Dave Martin Java Jive Studio Nashville, TN www.javajivestudio.com Cuppa Joe Records www.cuppajoerecords.com
61Pbass
I'd also give it a strong recommendation. It's an awesome little package. Later..................
_Sweet Willie_
I dig mine. Sounds great. I've been very happy. My impression of the drawbacks: 1. The internal speakers are wired at 4-ohm impedance. That means adding a 4-ohm extension runs it at a hot 2 ohm total load -- which the literature says it can take, but I just don't like the idea. Running an 8-ohm extension is a little better (2.67 ohm load), but then the extension only gets half as much power as the internal two 10s. 2. The wheels are nice, but it's still a load to move around. I often wish I had a separate head and cab. It's a great combo, though. spreadluv Fanboy? Why, yes! Nordstrand Pickups and Guitars. cramp
I was pretty much sold on it, but now I'm content. Thank you! what about an extention speaker, 12 or 15/8 ohm I take it?
_Sweet Willie_
Tough call on the extension. I'd try some different ones. Then again, you can always do what Bryan Beller did and have yours reconfigured as 8 ohms internal, then you'll have balance if you add another 8 ohm cab (e.g., an 8 ohm Goliath Jr. III 2x10 for a tasty 4x10 set-up or an 8-ohm SOB 1x15). Of course, you'd only be putting 250W or so into the internal speakers, but you'd be running the 350W at 4 ohms into more drivers w/ the extension cab (and avoiding running the amp hotter at 2.67 ohms or 2 ohms!). However, if I ever get an extension cab for my Sup' Red, it'll probably be a SOB 1x15. Peace. spreadluv Fanboy? Why, yes! Nordstrand Pickups and Guitars. Messiaen knew how to parlay the funk. Like I've said before, just don't boost the bass frequencies obscenely... classic mistake, eats power, runs hot.

Thanks for the encouragement. Originally posted by Dave Martin: The wheels on mine fell apart a couple of years ago; I use a dolly these days.Gotta be honest here, I'd still probably prefer a 1U preamp and a Peavey DPC1400X 1U power amp for a total of 20 lbs. and 1400W bridged mono into 4 ohms running into one or two 8 ohm cabs depending on need (like Acme Low B2 or AccuGroove Tri-112 or Epi UL 2x10 or...). Uh-oh, the GAS pains are coming! For now, though, I'll keep on giving the love to my Sup' Red! spreadluv Fanboy? Why, yes! Nordstrand Pickups and Guitars. Messiaen knew how to parlay the funk. cornbread_medhotmail.com
I think Sweet Willie and I share the same brain when it comes to our amps. I just got back from helping some friends of mine for a few shows, and their bass player uses an 8x10 and a 12-space rack. I decided that I was more than happy with my redhead and will not complain about the size of it anymore. It's a piece of cake to move around compared to that big rig. And to think, I HAD a big rig and thought it was great. But, I did get rid of it for my redhead, though.
PJN
I considered the Redheads but went with the Baby Blue II. I figured that if I was going to buy a combo, I would get the smallest and lightest. And blue is prettier.
saxofunk
Recently at an outdoor festival I saw a guy use a redhead with 15" extension cab... I don't know what it sounded like on stage, but I didn't have any feedback. - Matt W.
cornbread_medhotmail.com
I've never had any feedback with or without extension cabs. It's really hard to get feedback when I try to get it, so, it would seem that feedback is not a problem with the Redhead.
