jeremy c
When you are auditioning for a band, they are auditioning you and you are auditioning them. If you don't like the band, it doesn't matter whether they like you or not, doesn't it? Free download of my cd!.

73 P Bass
I don't thik the type of bass you play dictates how well you can solo. "Start listening to music!". -Jeremy C

Caevan O’Shite
As a guitarist who has begun reading over the Lowdown now and then, let me say that anybody who would be that pathetically shallow and insecure is a guitarist you are better off not playing with! How lame and absolutely sucky! A guitarist like that probably can't play rhythm and fills properly, or when called for; and instead brays along trying to show off all the time. Am I getting close here? I love a good bassist, the better the bassist the easier- and tastier- it is to do my part of the bargain. A good bassist, drummer, and guitarist as the ridmic nucleus of a rock/pop/blues/country/jazz/whatevah is still hard to beat! I always look for the best musician, who fits in musically, for any given situation. If they "fit" but need a little "help" along the way, great! If they can offer me "help", even better! -k Ask yourself- What Would Ren and Stimpy Do? ~ Caevan James-Michael Miller-O'Shite ~ _ ___ _ Leprechaun, Esquire _ ___ _
GeorgeR
Yea, it's happened many times. During an audition we decide on a song we all know how to play, something like Sultans of Swing for example, then suddenly the guitarist forgets or messes up the solo, there seems to be some underlying resentment that a bassist can do the guitar solo at the end just as well. Still, I ain't about to dumb down my playing to suit some g*****st's sorry self. Beware the lollipop of mediocrity; one lick and you suck forever.
