Can any of you Cliff Burton afficianato's tell me about his rig and sound, especially in Master of Puppets? He's got a good crunch (Leper and Master). Does he get that from some Overdrive or what? Later and thanks.

Sorry, I can't that much help to you. I don't know what type of amps Cliff used. I do know that he played a Rick 4001 and I've also seen him playing an Aria Pro II. A quick search on Google found a website that listed this as his gear:

Rickenbacker 4001

Alembic Spoiler

Aria Pro II

Mesa Boogie 4"x12" Cabinets & 1"x15" Cabinets

Ampeg SVT-1540HE Classis Series Enclosure

Morley Power Wah Boost

Electro Harmonix Big Muff

Looks good to me.

Actually, Bump, that's most of what Cliff used. He owned three basses, toured with them all...kept his rig very simple.

I've got the same pedals for the most part, Morley Wah and an EH Big Muff Pi...get most of the sounds alright...just wait 'til I get my Ampeg SVP-BSP Billy Sheehan Preamp.
