Chad Thorne
My local PBS station broadcasts "Monarch of the Glen", a BBC prime-time soap opera set in the Scottish Highlands. I'm hooked because 1) I love all things Scottish, and 2) the women are all beautiful and have those great accents. Last evening a character referred to ear protectors as "ear defenders". Just goes to prove again that the UK and the US are two cultures separated by a common language. BTW, to UK posters here: Is this series available on DVD yet (pant, pant)? I'll take any Labatt's or Molson over a Bud or Miller any day of the week! I don't count micro brews in this, cause there's so many, but as far as mainstream, brands, gimme a Blue and I'm a happy camper. I'll even take a Pil' or O'Keefe's high test over a Bud, Man... Dammit, now I'm thirsty. Anyone got bus fare to Vacouver? Cheers!
