That article's amazing... OK, he hit big & sold 3.5 million copies of a record. Now, he sells 500,000 and he's shit? Are we supposed to believe that somebody lost money on this? Conversely, how about the assumption that because someone sells a few million records that they will always do so? If that were true, there'd be no such thing as a one-hit wonder... Of course, R. Kelly is willing to assume that mantle; he sees himself as so huge that people just feel the need to "take him down" I don't know if he's guilty or not but, like you say, I wouldn't exactly be surprised. Big star who uses his status to bed down young girls...whoever heard of such a thing? As for the end of his career...if it's true, then I hope it does end his career. Maybe he can use the free time to grow up.

I absolutely believe he was guilty after reading the story in Rolling Stone (Fairly recent issue with Pink on the cover) Whether that's him in the video or not doesn't matter. He did marry a minor and Rolling Stone had quotes of friends and people who have worked with him saying that he has a problem with young girls and people have spoken to him about it. If it is him on the video, he should go to prison for what I've heard is on there.

Here's what I don't get... The video itself, is CHILD PORNOGRAPHY! ...yet it's been passed around like a doobie. If it IS him, he should be locked up and if you've seen the video and didn't report it.... well, YOU'RE just part of the damn problem.

Aren't there still some states where its legal to marry at 15? It's 16 here in Utah, and they'd just raised it three years ago, it used to be 14. ("Family values" my ass!!)

Well wrong is wrong, and regardless of how many people before or concurrently have done the same thing or worse, the MF ought to be jailed for it if he's proven guilty. Betcha you'll see Johnny Cochran or the like representing him, I just hope the "race" card doesn't get played. And he ought to thank God the father of the girl or girls or whomever the offended party is, doesn't take out biblical vengeance. I would, laws or not. Priests getting big "get out of jail" bonds? They ain't got no money! Publicity? Who wants to see Father Mulcahey on CNN on trial? A celeb will make lots of money for the media, so they'll keep the heat on. And I agree, repeated showing of the video is a bit criminal considering the age of the chick and the unfortunate circumstances. I haven't seen it, I get all the FREE porn I want almost at every gig, right in front of the stage! But thats "legal" I think......

Right is right and wrong is WRONG!!! R Kelly is dead ass WRONG if he did this!! It's funny though, no matter WHAT happen's, somehow Johnny Cochran and the "race card" always comes up... I just dont get that...I really dont.

I dont know for sure, but my gut says he's guilty... I also think he'll be found guilty and do about 30 months on an 8 year sentence. Remember celebrity didnt help Mike Tyson, it was his past that convicted Tyson, and R Kelly's past is almost as bad.

Unfortunately, much like the poor boys who got molested by Jacko and the scores of other girls that r.kelly "bumped n' grinded", the PARENTS of the girl in the video will probably trade off justice and their child's innocence for some easy settlement money.

Here's the thing though. I could be wrong in the follwoing assumption but here it goes anyway. OJ didn't get off because it was murder but Mike Tyson got convicted for a "sexual" crime. The court system looks diferently at the 2. One is much more taboo than the other, though both are wrong. I predict, since he has been arrested and indicted for 21 charges, he will be found guilty and he will get his in prison.
Adults, kids serenade R. Kelly at court August 8, 2002 BY ABDON M. PALLASCH LEGAL AFFAIRS REPORTER Before R&B superstar R. Kelly arrived at Cook County Criminal Court on Wednesday, a yellow school bus dropped off 40 children who donned pro-Kelly T-shirts. Adults led them in singing R. Kelly anthems "I Believe I Can Fly" and "Heaven, I Need a Hug." Why did the adults choose a field trip to cheer on Kelly, who is charged with 21 counts of child pornography? "Kids need something to reach for--they have no role models," said Janet Edmond, who helped organize the bus with the children. ... The children screamed as if at a concert. They said they loved seeing Kelly wave to them. "He showed us he loved us," said Tenisha Jones, 14. "He showed he loved us like we love him," added Ken Davis, 16. "You need to stop looking at all the negative stuff and start looking at the good things R. Kelly is doing," Jones said, echoing the complaints that Edmond voiced about the media coverage of Kelly.
Here's a link to the entire article... R. Kelly is a role model? :freak: Even before the scandal, that would've been news to me...

I hear, from inside sources who have worked closely with R., that they have no doubt he did it (I also have friends who swear they have friends who have sisters who are nurses and they were in the emergency room with Richard Gere and a gerbil...). I also believe that he will be acquitted because there will be no positive ID, and his musical career will go down the tubes. JMHO. DO

Kelly had friends who have told Rolling Stone that "he has a problem with little girls" after the story about this video came out.
