chromos
Well, I'm not really sure when this happened, but i found a return to forever anthology that's just been released. Just wanted to let you guys know that stanley's definitely on in the previously unreleased tracks. It was kind of nice the way they arranged the songs between the two cds - disc 1 is almost all standup, while 2 is all electric with plenty of slap. I was particularly impressed with the live take of bass folk song. Plenty of gusto, but still pretty.
fig
Thanks for the info. Stanley Clarke was my first bass hero. Too cool. Bassplayers aren't paid to play fast, they're paid to listen fast.
chromos
Another good one with stanley (if you don't already have it) is an album called Rite of Strings. Acoustic trio - Stanley Clarke, Al Di Meola, and Jean Luc Ponty. These three really complement each other well; it's packed full of great solos as well.
