Kooky Mogessi
I have to do a HUGE research paper for school on a "Post secondary schooling institution" in the words of my english teacher. Basically its what I'm going to do after high school. I want to go to a college to study music (teaching, maybe producing for now) and I need help deciding a good one to research. I also have to interview someone from this place so I dont know if that would help you help me. DanYmaL X
Try Berklee sp? College of Music in Boston... don't know much about it other than I had a friend from high school that went there and he's a fairly successful (Your own interpretation of successful inserted here.)professional musician... do a web search for music schools or collage of music or some such string, and you should find it. dcr
Try the BP archives; I seem to remember that Jeff Berlin had an article in there in which he discussed different kinds of music schools, how to choose, etc. You might also check out Ed Friedland. The Fonz
my advice is to look into a regular old university that has a good music department. rice or oberlin. you never know what a good, well rounded education might yeild. if you really want to go to somewhere like berklee, i suggest doing it after school. Jode
Yup - good old State U, whatever that is in your heck of the woods, just might have a commercial music program of some kind. Just be sure you don't make the mistake I made: go to a music school that specializes in commercial music and not just a great university music department that just happens to have a good jazz program. Of course, if I'd waited five years and gone to the same school, I'd have found a much more useful program. Berklee's a good one, and don't forget North Texas State. Tom Capasso
This site has a pretty decent search engine for universities/colleges. And you can also test yourself with the SAT question of the day.
