BassPlaya
Can you run a 300 watt cab with a 350 watt head? Is that gonna blow the cab? Thats all just a quick question.
Bob Gollihur
Not if you are careful. Actually, a lowered powered head can destroy components in a cabinet rated higher. I prefer to have the headroom (more watts than typically needed) that a higher powered amp offers, to handle the transients and avoid clipping and its undesirable artifacts. The real point is not to drive a cabinet past the point where it yells uncle. IMHO it is better to have the extra horsepower and not use it continually, like driving a car with the engine at 6500 rpm all the time will cause its premature death. 1000 Upright Bass Links, Luthier Directory, Teacher Directory - http://www.gollihurmusic.com/links.cfm - Life is too short for bad tone -
