Metal_Boy16
I noticed something about my bass. There is a thin clear sheet of Ziploc-like plastic that covers the cover of the electronics cavity, on the back side of my bass. What is this plastic? What is its purpose? Can I remove it? Should I remove it? "If only I had HIS chops!"
Tom Capasso
Sorry I don't remember if you told us what kind of bass it is (maybe in an earlier post?). It's common for some manufacturers to put a plastic cover over parts that will scratch easily during shipment (or showroom demos). I've seen it in stores covering the back plate, the pickguard, the controls, and so on. It will probably peel off fine. If you bought the bass new, you could always confirm with the store. Alternatively, you could leave it on (especially the control cavity cover), and it will continue to help protect against scratches (it may eventually start to peel off on it's own). What the heck - nobody sees the back of the bass !! Tom www.stoneflyrocks.com Acoustic Color Be practical as well as generous in your ideals.
