Farfetched
I'm actually planning on purchasing my first bass... anyways, what is the consensus on the new squire bass vs the mexi fenders? I was pretty well decided on the mexi fender J bass when i was told to consider the squires. (I've been told that the squires are now being made in indoneisa, which is a step up from China/Taiwan where they used to be made) as well, what about the squire pbass special which claims that it is the p-bass meets j-bass thanks paragon_of_virtue@hotmail.com
Mike H.
Buy the mexi jazz. I've seen the new Squire stuff and the wood is still really green in the neck. Every one that I've seen for the last 3 years(working in a retail music store), the necks have been severely bowed unless the owner has maintained them. For the extra $100 it's very much worth it. http://www.identity5.net
Wickerman
MIMs are much better than Squires. They use higher quality parts and are much better made. DEFINETLY get the mexi-jazz.
saucyjack
Yup, don't even think twice go with the Mexi J bass Smell the Magic www.Katp.com
bassmangreg
Go with the Mexican. Then if funds become more available, go get an American. The re4sale of an American hold better value. Minnie The Moocher
Well, it doesn't seems that any of you have some real experience with the Indonesian Squires - I have. I bought a Squire Pbass 5 nearly one year ago, and it just rocks. It is heavy, strong, well-build but without any strass. There's two Jbass pu that sounds like ... Jbass The neck is fine, wide (you have to like it full in your hand ) and didn't need major adjustement. For the price, there's nothing that can beat it IMHO.
